Troop 1459 Jacks River Hike
July 19-21, 2019

The Hike:  The Jacks River is located in NW Georgia in the Cohutta Wilderness near the Tennessee border.  This is always an exciting trip and provides a classic river hike with over 20 river crossings. The Jacks River Trail named after a Cherokee Indian, who for a small fee, would carry travelers across the river on his back. It is one of the premiere trails in the Cohutta Wilderness. It features old growth hemlocks, Jacks River Gorge and Jacks River Falls.

Boy Scout Letter Home

Dear Mom,

Our scout master told us all write to our parents in case you saw the flood on TV and worried. We are OK. Only 1 of our tents and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Chad when it happened.
